Exciting Developments at HELP English Academy: Embracing Innovation for Student Success
Dear Students, Recruitment Partners,
I am writing to you today with great excitement to announce a series of transformative changes coming to HELP English Academy in February 2024. As President, I am committed to providing our students with the finest English education in the Philippines, and these changes represent a significant step forward in achieving that goal.
A Renewed Curriculum:
- New Daily Class Structure (Total of 10 mandatory classes): 1 Pronunciation Class (Morning), 4 Individual Classes, 2 Small Group Classes, 1 Special Class, 1 Vocabulary Test, 2 hours of Mandatory Self-Study.
- ESL Course: 4 Individual Classes (Speaking x 2, Reading, Writing), 2 Small Group Classes (Listening, Activity (Grammar/ Presentation/ Debate))
- Business Course: 5 Individual Classes (Speaking x 2, Listening, Reading, Writing)
- IELTS Course: 4 Individual Classes (Speaking x 2, Writing x 2), 2 Small Group Classes (Listening, Reading)
- TOEIC Course: 4 Individual Classes (Reading x 2, Listening x 2), 2 Small Group Classes (Listening, Activity (Grammar/ Presentation/ Debate)) or 5 Individual Classes
- Other Pronunciation Class (Morning Reading Class) will be divided into different levels while Special Class will be moved to 16:35 weekdays.
MRC class
① Level 1, 2 -> Morning Reading Class A
② More than Level 3 ->Morning Reading Class B
ESL-Small Group class (Activity)
① Grammar class for level 1, 2
② Presentation class for level 3,4
③ Devate class for more than level 5
Focus Shifted for Vocabulary Test:
- Vocabulary Test Form: We will focus on the memorizing of the vocabulary together with the learning of the pronunciation, the vocabulary test form will be changed to recording vocabulary words.
- There will be a weekly Vocabulary test on Friday for all the vocabulary learning during the week.
Mandatory Self-Study: To foster the learning, students will have to attend to self-study at 19:00-20:00 weekdays (in individual classes) and 22:00-23:00 weekdays (in group class).
Enhanced Management:
- Apply of Elite Sparta System: There will be no outing on Friday (except the last Friday of a program).
- Attendance Penalty: By absent without proper reason for any class during the day (include vocabulary test and self study), students will be requested to study 2 hours for each absent class on Saturday, no fulfill of the Self-study on Saturday will lead to a ground of the weekend.
IELTS for Success:
- We will base on the placement test score to arrange students in different stage of IELTS. IELTS 3.0 – 3.5: Pre-IELTS Course / IELTS 4.0: IELTS Basic Course / IELTS 4.5: IELTS Intermediate Course / IELTS 5.0: IELTS Advanced Course.
- If student gets lower than 3.0 in IELTS, students will study 4 weeks ESL first, then will retake the IELTS Mock Test after 2 weeks of studying to check the abilities again.
- IELTS Mock Test will be scheduled every 4 weeks. If student meets 5.0, the Mock test will be every 2 weeks. If the mock test score is lower than the highest mock test score, students have to retake the Mock test on Saturday.
- IELTS Guaranteed Course will have IELTS Mock Test weekly. Lower score than the highest IELTS Mock Test Score will lead to a retake on Saturday.
Implementation Timeline:
We are committed to a smooth transition and will be introducing these changes gradually, starting on February 12, 2024. We will keep you informed every step of the way through emails, website updates, and individual communication.
We believe these changes will position HELP English Academy at the forefront of English education in the Philippines.
